Maintenance Tips
In the winter time, your ceiling fans should turn clockwise on the lowest speed to draw cooler air up to mix with the lighter warm air to make it easier to keep your apartment warm and make your unit work less. We recommend keeping your thermostat at 67 degrees during the winter to keep your heating bill down. Keep your bedroom and bathroom doors open.
A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER
December 2: Nixa’s 64th Christmas Parade. Starts at 2 p.m. at the X Center, 701 N. Taylor Way. Theme is A Charlie Brown Christmas, so get those little trees and Snoopy dogs ready. Prepare to sing “Christmas Time is Here.” It’s the holiday season and this is a great time. Parade should last a couple hours. You can find much more info at nixaparks.com
December 16: Michael McDonald: Season of Peace. It’s the Doobie Brothers guy doing holiday music, and really, does any of that sound bad? 8 p.m. at the Gillioz Theatre in downtown Springfield. (417) 863-0941 for tickets ($40-250).
December 17: Harry Connick Jr. New Orleans singer comes to Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts in Springfield. It’s a holiday show and a New Orleans Tricentennial celebration all in one. 7:30 p.m. Zip over to hammonshall.com for ticket information ($53-123).
BEING COURTEOUS AND CAREFUL
If you’re going to smoke on your patio or balcony, please be sure to use a sturdy ashtray made of glass or metal. We’ve gotten reports of people using cups or cans as ashtrays — that’s a dangerous fire hazard! Thanks for being courteous to your neighbors at Pheasant Run.
