Spring is severe weather season in the Ozarks. We want to help you find safety and shelter when storms hit. Here’s the latest info:

There are four public FEMA safe rooms in Nixa: Nixa High School, Mathews Elementary, Nixa Junior High, and Inman Intermediate. FEMA safe rooms are open during a tornado watch and tornado warnings.

When a tornado watch is issued, the FEMA safe room will be opened shortly after to allow those with special needs or those that would need extra time to come into the shelter. If you want to come before a warning is issued, you are welcome to do so.

Only aid animals are allowed. Household pets are not allowed in the tornado safe rooms per FEMA regulations.

Our Little Free Library is up and running! Sophia and Abby are the stewards. The library is located right next to the pool gate.
